The CV90-120 is a true tank, only with IFV level instead of MBT level armour. Consequently it has an overall low weight and more importantly, low ground pressure. An example of the benefit of this approach was seen in the Falklands War where British Scorpion light tanks could cross the island's boggy ground, while the Argentinian's heavier, American made IFVs were relegated to using the roads. Imagine how the CV90-120 would be employed in Finland repelling a Russian attack. Like the Argentinians, the Russians would be stuck using the roads to move their armour while the CV90-120 could move at will through the Boreal forest. The CV90-120 could get into a tank-on-tank combat with a T72 or T90 as the Russians would be sitting ducks confined to the roads. Go off road and they bog down. A CV90-120 ambush from the woods could quickly massacre a road bound Russian tank column. The intended role of the Booker has much more in common with the Scorpion's role, rather than that of the CV90-120, which is why the Booker is a better choice for the U.S. Army. The Scorpion was very fast, light, air transportable and had enough firepower to deal with enemy strong points. The U.S. Army has no intention of having a Booker go head-to-head with a T90, instead it is strictly an infantry support tank meant to operate much the same way as a Scorpion. The decision not to call it a tank is classic bureaucratic BS.

A lot of door gunners during the Vietnam era came from the infantry who were M-60 machine gunners. Infantry unit commanders were very angry losing their best machine gunners to aviation units asking for volunteers. The volunteer gunners chose to volunteer was better chow or food and hot showers unlike being in the infantry life sucked. There were many door gunners during that time wore their Combat Infantrymans Badge above their Air Crewmans Badge. These guys were bad ass guys.

dear Russians, look around you. who likes thugs? In peacetime life, who wants to deal with violent guys? With the start of the war in Ukraine, the dignity that Russia had among the nations of the world was lost overnight. Try to understand what the spec-operation looks like to someone from the outside of RF. Territorially the largest country in the world armed with an arsenal that can destroy this world, attacked another country, smaller and weaker than itself. in Feb. 2022. "reasons" given for starting the war in UA did not make sense, even to your own people! From that day mostly innocent people are killed, those who do not have the possibility to change anything related to the Russian reasons for starting the war. Besides that does anyone from RF really expect and believe that your people will be able to build a life on a stolen land soaked in blood, moans and cries of the victims of the war? Please, open your eyes at least you who still have some time ahead of you and before it gets to late. We will all give an explanation for our actions and our deeds before God, I hope that at that moment this generation will not cry bitterly when it recognize the full consequences of its misdeeds.

This feels like something you could deploy using either a ground based drone or one flying (more risky and limited). Or just bake it into a ground moving drone made specifically for this, moving stealth and camp against thermal vision.

There must be significant trade-offs if this thing is still in testing phases. I heard it is less accurate than the M119. How much less, I don't know, but cannon artillery needs to be reasonably accurate to support infantry. The 105mm round especially, otherwise it lowers the quality the M119 had. That is, close artillery support, especially in danger close situations. Despite the traditional recoil system removed, it still looks rather heavy for the chassis, with rear wheels noticeably look carrying a heavy load. The effective range decreases when the accuracy decreases, and the maximum range probably too decreased. The only thing this thing can do is shoot and scoot, but that is it, I surmise, and I don't think it is worth the money. The M119 is fairly easy to manhandle, the rounds are lightweight, and if you want to transport this thing with helicopter against a peer military, it is at risk from SAMs. Air dropping it, too, can put it at the same risk.

Greetings! Thanks for the great video👍 Let me add a little about the history of the creation of the Su-27. Initially, this fighter was created to be highly maneuverable for two main reasons: 1) Experience in the use of aviation in Vietnam, based on the results of which Soviet theorists came to the conclusion that radar-guided missiles were low in effectiveness when firing at highly maneuverable targets. 2) Technological lag behind the United States in terms of electronics. Soviet engineers understood that they would not be able to create a light, compact and powerful radar similar to the F-15 radar, and also understood that an American fighter would detect the Su-27 before the Su-27 detected it. Based on the above, it was concluded that the Su-27 should dodge American medium-range missiles and meet the F-15 and F-16 in close air combat. It is for this reason that its configuration was integral, that is, not as fast as the classic F-15 configuration. But the introduction of the AIM-120 missile with an active homing head destroyed the theory of close-in, highly maneuverable combat, allowing American fighters to hit targets at medium distances, in relative safety for themselves, and this also became a catalyst for accelerating the production process of the Soviet R-77 missile, also with an active homing head for weapons Su-27.

In the U.S. Army at least, a door gunner isn’t an assigned MOS. For the most part they’re usually either a 15T or 15U Blackhawk or Chinook repairer. However that’s not always the case. It wasn’t uncommon when I was in Iraq that they’d pull guys from battalion motor pool or something like that who they could spare and send them to their aerial gunnery course. The actual 15T/U repairers were just needed in maintenance too badly and were too valuable to lose. However in general a door gunner is a 15T/U crew chief. Aerial gunnery is actually a very small part of your job. In fact you only even have a weapon in an actual combat zone. The rest of the time you’re just doing your crew duties communicating with the pilots and taking care of the cabin etc. Then there’s winch qualification and air assault for sling loads. Bambi bucket qualification etc. The medical stuff is something else entirely. Medevac birds have a crewchief and air medic in the back. The air medic is an actual medic MOS who went on to air medic school. It’s a big deal, big accomplishment for them to be an air medic. They’d send the crewchief to CLS course and the air medics would work with them to train them to assist but they were still just 15T’s. - Former 15T/U

No velcro for rank or nametape and no pocket on the front. Bit disappointing. Wonder if there was a design change at some point? Anyways other than those differences the item is very good quality and the print is near perfect match to genuine CADPAT. Ripstop material too.

Im from Örnsköldsvik the home of the stridsfordon 90. I love the cv90 but i a realist to and one problem is that the cv90 hasent seen irl action vs the bradleys. The war in Ukraine will get allot of data to be used to make it even better. I think we will se a cv90 in the future that is built around launching drones or even a cv90 made for taking down drones. A ifv is always suppose to be deployed with tanks and today tanks are getting their asses kicked by a 200dollar drone.
